This Privacy & Cookies Policy ("Policy") describes how PEOMIZ, acting itself and through related entities (collectively, "PEOMIZ," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, processes, and shares your personal information when you use any products, services, content, features, technologies, or functions, and all related websites, mobile apps, mobile sites or other online platform or applications offered to you by us (collectively the "Services/Platform"). We collect, use, and share personal information to help the PEOMIZ Platform work and to keep it safe.

PEOMIZ is the data controller of your personal information collected under this Policy. Information posted on PEOMIZ is publicly available. Our servers are located in India. Therefore, if you choose to provide us with personal information, you are consenting to the transfer and storage of that information on our servers.

1. BACKGROUND AND KEY INFORMATION

This Policy applies to all users of the PEOMIZ Platform, including customers ("Users") and service partners ("Service Partners" or "Gig Workers"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the terms of this Policy.

2. PERSONAL DATA THAT WE COLLECT

We collect various types of personal data to provide and improve our Services.

2.1. What data do we collect about you?

2.1.1. Registration and other account information

When you create an account on PEOMIZ, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, password, and profile picture. For Service Partners, we may collect additional details necessary for service provision, including professional qualifications, work experience, identification documents (e.g., Aadhaar, PAN), bank account details, and references.

2.1.2. Validation of your account

To ensure the security and authenticity of accounts, we may collect information for verification purposes, such as government-issued IDs, proof of address, or other relevant documents. This helps us prevent fraud and maintain a safe platform for all users.

2.1.3. Communication through the chat feature on our Platform

When you communicate with other users or Service Partners through our in-app chat feature, we collect and store the content of these communications. This helps us resolve disputes, improve customer service, and ensure compliance with our terms of service.

2.1.4. Device Information

We collect information about the device you use to access our Platform, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and crash data.

2.1.5. Location information

With your consent, we collect precise or approximate location information from your mobile device when you use our Services. This is essential for features like finding nearby services, enabling Service Partners to navigate to your location, and optimizing service delivery. You can enable or disable location services through your device settings.

2.1.6. Client and Log data

Our servers automatically record information ("log data") created by your use of the Services. This log data may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page, pages visited, location, your mobile carrier, device information (including device and application IDs), search terms, and other information you view or interact with on the Platform.

2.1.7. Clickstream data

We collect clickstream data, which includes information about the pages you visit, the links you click on, and other actions you take while using our Platform. This data helps us understand user behaviour and improve the user experience.

3. HOW DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL DATA?

a. Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you (e.g., to facilitate service bookings, payments, and communication between users and Service Partners).

c. Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests to improve our Services and to provide you a safe and secure Platform (e.g., for fraud prevention, security, and service enhancement).

d. To improve our Services: We analyze usage patterns, feedback, and other data to enhance existing features, develop new services, and optimize Platform performance.

f. For security and fraud prevention: We use your data to detect and prevent fraudulent activities, unauthorized access, and other illegal or harmful behaviors.

7. YOUR RIGHTS IN RELATION TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA

a. Right to Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

8. DELETION OF ACCOUNT AND PERSONAL DATA

You can delete your PEOMIZ account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion of your account, we will initiate the process of deleting your personal data from our active databases, subject to our data retention policies and legal obligations.

9. TRANSFERS OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Information posted on PEOMIZ is publicly available. Our servers are located in India. Therefore, if you choose to provide us with personal information, you are consenting to the transfer and storage of that information on our servers in India. We implement appropriate safeguards to ensure that your data is protected in accordance with this Policy and applicable laws.

10. DATA SECURITY

All the information we receive about you are stored on secure servers and we have implemented technical and organizational measures that are suitable and necessary to protect your personal data, in accordance with the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Information Rules), 2011. These measures include encryption, firewalls, access controls, secure password policies, and physical security measures for our data centers. We regularly review and update our security practices to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of your personal data.

11. DATA RETENTION

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. We delete personal information when we no longer need it for the purposes we described earlier. We retain personal information as permitted by law to resolve disputes, enforce our policies; and prevent bad guys from coming back.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we shall retain your information for a period of 180 days or a longer period if required by the court or authorised government agencies after withdrawal or cancellation of your registration.

12. BUSINESS TRANSITIONS

In the event that PEOMIZ undergoes a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personal data may be among the assets transferred. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal data, through our platform or public media.

13. USER GENERATED CONTENT

Any information, including personal data that you choose to submit or post on publicly accessible areas of our Platform (e.g., reviews, ratings, public profiles) may be visible to other users and the general public. Please exercise caution when disclosing personal information in these areas.

14. UPDATES TO THIS POLICY

We may update, upgrade, modify (partially and/or fully) this policy at any time, with updates taking effect when you next post or after 30 days, whichever is sooner. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated Policy on our Platform and, where appropriate, by email or other direct communication. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.

15. COMMUNICATION

We will communicate with you by email, SMS or in the app notification in connection with our Services/Platform to confirm your registration, to inform you of transactional messages in relation to our Services. As it is imperative for us to provide you such transactional messages you may not be able to opt-out of such messages. For promotional or marketing communications, we will provide you with options to opt-in or opt-out as required by law.

16. CONTACTS PERMISSION

With your consent, our mobile application may access your device's contact list. This permission is used solely to facilitate features such as inviting friends to the platform or identifying contacts who are already PEOMIZ users. We do not store your entire contact list on our servers, only relevant contact information you choose to share for specific features.

17. LOCATION PERMISSION

As stated in Section 2.1.5, with your consent, we collect precise or approximate location information from your mobile device when you use our Services. You can enable or disable location services through your device settings.

18. PHONE NUMBER & EMAIL PERMISSION

We require access to your phone number and email address for registration, account verification, communication, and to provide you with essential service-related updates and transactional messages.

19. INSTALLED APPLICATION DATA

We may collect information about the applications installed on your device for purposes such as preventing fraud, improving the security of our platform, and understanding user preferences to provide tailored service recommendations. This data is collected in an aggregated and anonymised form where possible.
